University students competed at bizz@kampüs to develop the best ideas
In this year’s online “bizz@kampüs” contest, university students competed to develop the best marketing ideas for Ülker Halley and the team “Bachateros” won the first prize.
In this year’s online “bizz@kampüs” contest, university students competed to develop the best marketing ideas for Ülker Halley and the team “Bachateros” won the first prize.
Attended by junior and senior university students and graduate students every year to develop marketing ideas for various Ülker brands, “bizz@kampüs” talent program and contest was held for the 9th time and the winners have been recently announced.
The contest and the award ceremony were held on the digital platform due to the pandemic and teams shared their innovative ideas with the jury. University students used their imagination to develop marketing strategies for Ülker Halley. bizz@kampüs contestants submitted their projects covering the aspects of innovative product, design, packaging, motto, strategy, and communication and these projects were evaluated by jury members, namely Ülker HR Vice President Faruk Gözleveli, Ülker CMO Aslı Özen Turhan, Ülker Master Brand and New Categories Marketing Director Aslı Akman, Ülker Corporate Communication Director Mehmet Uçan, and Alametifarika Advertising Agency Creative Director Ozan Özüm Özbey.
Monetary reward and internship at Ülker
This year approximately 3,000 students in 1,000 teams from 171 different universities applied to bizz@kampüs. After the jury’s evaluations, team Bachateros by three senior students, namely Ali Rıza Güngör (Mechanical Engineering at Yıldız Technical University), Harun Erdil (Civil Engineering at Özyeğin University), and Arvin Gazihan (Biomedical Engineering at Fatih Sultan Mehmet Vakıf University) won the first prize. The team “Two Sides of the Same Halley” from İstanbul Kültür University was selected the first runner-up and team “Alloy” from Yıldız Technical University came third in the contest. Top three teams received TL 20 thousand, TL 15 thousand and TL 10 thousand monetary rewards, respectively. In addition, team members gained the opportunity for a long-term internship at Ülker.
Ali Ülker: Young people will steer transformation within the “new normal”
Yıldız Holding Chairman Ali Ülker referred to the success of young people especially during the pandemic and added: “The pandemic has radically changed the ways of doing business in many industries globally. The main drive of this change will be digitalization and young people will be the implementers of this transformation within the new normal, because they are better educated and are capable of easily adapting to innovations. In full awareness of this fact, we have been listening to young people very carefully for many years and encouraging their creativity and innovative projects. I extend sincere congratulations to all winning teams and wish them the best of success.”

Reminding that bizz@kampüs is held every year to bring young minds together and to encourage them to devise projects for various Ülker brands, Ülker CEO Mete Buyurgan said: “We have so far witnessed hundreds of exciting projects and came together with countless young people at bizz@kampüs. Their imaginative capabilities, determination and innovative perspectives have always strengthened our hopes for implementing our innovative projects. We are delighted to see such great interest in this year’s bizz@kampüs despite the difficult conditions caused by the pandemic. Each project has been a proof of the contribution that young people can make to our business life. Innovative perspectives of the youth guide us in shaping our way of doing business at Ülker and their energy motivates us. All winning projects of this year comprise of many qualities that will empower our Halley brand. In addition, Ülker HR Vice President Faruk Gözleveli gave detailed information on the company’s talent acquisition programs: “bizz@kampüs is not only a contest, but also a talent acquisition program designed for junior and senior university students and graduate students with the aim of improving brand awareness in campuses and acquiring young talents as interns. With this contest, we open our gates to young talents and help them experience the process of building a project, which we believe is an important chapter in their academic life. We try to reach young talents via many tools, including bizz@kampüs, internship programs, Commercial Talent - Young Talent Recruitment Program, and Job@Yıldız Holding internship and new graduate recruitment program led by Yıldız Holding.”
