Ülker Supports “Atalık Kavılca” Wheat with Limited Edition Product
Ülker, a leading food company in Türkiye known for its commitment to sustainable raw material sourcing, has introduced a limited edition product called "Saklıköy Kavılca Buğday," made with Atalık Kavılca Wheat, one of Anatolia's oldest agricultural products with a history dating back 13,000 years.
In an effort to raise awareness about Atalık Kavılca Wheat and support the farmers producing it in the Ardahan central villages and around Çıldır, Turkey's largest food company, Ülker, has released a new product for consumers. Saklıköy Kavılca Buğdaylı, a chocolate cream-filled product, has been placed on store shelves in limited quantities.
Mustafa Kabakçı, the CMO of Ülker, shared information about this special product, saying, "Kavılca Wheat is one of Turkey's valuable ancient wheat varieties, rich in vitamins, minerals, and fiber. In support of increasing awareness about this wheat, which is currently undergoing efforts to reintroduce widespread cultivation, we have created a new product made from 100% Kavılca Wheat, with a chocolate cream filling. This limited edition product marks the first time Kavılca Wheat has been used in biscuits in Turkey. Wheat is one of the key raw materials for Ülker, and sustainable raw material sourcing is a top priority for our company. In line with this commitment, we began using Aliağa Biscuit Wheat, which we developed in collaboration with Bahri Dağdaş International Agricultural Research Institute, in our products as of October 2022. With this new product, we are delighted to contribute to increased interest in Atalık Kavılca Wheat."
