Ülker finished 2019 with a record turnover of 7.8 Billion TL
In a statement sent to the Public Disclosure Platform (KAP), Ülker Bisküvi announced that it had increased its turnover by 31% in 2019 compared to the previous year, reaching 7.8 billion TL and increasing the net profit of the parent company by 29% to 905 million TL.
Ülker Bisküvi, Türkiye's largest publicly traded food company, closed 2019 with a record turnover of 7.8 billion TL, increasing its sales by 31%. The company's Turkish and international operations grew by 28% and 37% respectively, with operating profit increasing by 43% to 1,132 million TL.
In a statement sent to the Public Disclosure Platform (KAP), Ülker Bisküvi announced that it had increased its turnover by 31% in 2019 compared to the previous year, reaching 7.8 billion TL and increasing the net profit of the parent company by 29% to 905 million TL.
The company's Earnings Before Interests, Taxes, Depreciation, and Amortization (EBITDA) increased by 39% to 1,304 million TL in 2019, compared to 2018. The share of export and international operations in annual EBITDA reached 48%.
Ülker Bisküvi CEO Mete Buyurgan stated that they continued to contribute to sustainable growth and development with efficient production and a waste-free company model in 2019, saying, “We have maintained our undisputed leadership in Türkiye’s snack market, growing our operations there by 28%, and our export and international operations by 37%. Our EBITDA margin is 16.7%. We’ve also become the leader in the Egyptian biscuit market, and maintained our leadership in the biscuit category in Saudi Arabia."
He continued:
- "As the strongest player in the whole snack market, we derive our strength from our brands, the importance we give to R&D and innovation, our understanding of our consumers and how we take quick action, our sales and distribution network, and our prioritization of digital transformation.
- Our investments are very important to us. In 2019, we made consolidated investments of over 140 million TL in areas such as new facility establishment, capacity increase, efficiency studies, and renewal of production lines.
- We increased our operating profit by 43% to 1,132 million TL compared to the previous year.
- We started this journey with a single biscuit, but now we make significant contributions to the Turkish economy with hundreds of products, our production in 10 factories, our investments, our employment, and our exports.
- We produce Godiva and McVitie's products in our factories in Türkiye and export them to the whole world, making Türkiye a stronger production and export center every day.
- We focus on digital transformation with an end-to-end approach that extends from the supply chain to the consumer.
- We have integrated sustainability throughout our business. Since 2014, we have grown without increasing carbon emissions.
- In 2020, we will continue to focus on innovation, work based on profitability, and growing without slowing down.
