Ülker and the Turkish Football Federation get 220,000 children out on the football pitch

The Turkish Football Federation, in cooperation with Ülker, the biggest corporate supporter of Turkish sports, have brought 120,000 children out to the football field in the last month. Besides their festive activities, Ülker and the Turkish Football Federation operate the Football for Everyone projects which, to date, have reached 220,000 children. The projects encourage children to get out on the football field and to create happy moments.

Ülker and the Turkish Football Federation began the Football for Everyone program in 2007, by organizing various events and sponsoring activities on different levels. Yıldız Holding Corporate Communications Director Zuhal Şeker stated that during the last month, with support from the Ministry of Education, Turkish Football Federation and Ülker, Football Festivals have been hosted in 81 provinces and Football Technical Training Centers at 60 locations in 19 provinces have held tournaments for a total of 120,000 child footballers.  Zuhal Şeker emphasized that, including these participants, a total of 220,000 children have been reached through the program since 2007 and that before the end of the year the number is expected to increase to 300,000.

Various platforms are utilized by the projects, which are aimed at developing the children socially through the medium of football.  The football festivals in 81 provinces were organized in late May through cooperation among the MEB, the Turkish Football Federation and Ülker. Nearly 15,000 matches were played and more than 100,000 10 and 11 year old children took part in the festivals.  The events were the largest of this kind ever organized for children of this age group.
