Ülker Remains at the Top in Sustainability

Turkey’s leading food company Ülker has been included in S&P Global's Corporate Sustainability Assessment (The Sustainability Yearbook) for the 5th consecutive year, recognizing companies with the best environmental, social, and governance (ESG) performance.

Ülker, whose sustainability efforts are appreciated on both national and international platforms, has achieved the success of being included in S&P Global’s Corporate Sustainability Assessment for the 5th time.

While over 7,690 companies from 62 different sectors were evaluated globally, 780 companies qualified to be listed. Ülker, with its environmental, social, and governance performance, became one of the 9 Turkish companies on the list and remains the only Turkish company among the 26 global companies in the food products category.

A Strong Start to 2025 in Sustainability

Ülker CEO Mete Buyurgan stated that sustainability efforts, shaped by including all stakeholders from farmers and suppliers to business partners and consumers, continue uninterrupted. Buyurgan continued his words as follows:

“In a period where global and local dynamics are rapidly changing, sustainability always remains the cornerstone of our business strategy. We are happy to crown our sustainability-focused growth and operational excellence approach with the successes we achieve on national and international platforms. In this sense, we have made a strong start to 2025. After the London Stock Exchange Group’s (LSEG) environmental, social, and governance (ESG) performance evaluation, we rose to 1st place in our category among 484 companies worldwide for the second time as of January 2, 2025, following the January 2024 assessment.

Now, we are happy to be included in S&P Global’s Corporate Sustainability Assessment for the 5th consecutive year. The fact that our sustainability efforts are recognized on both national and international platforms shows that we are on the right path. We are growing without an increase in carbon emissions. In line with our 2050 net-zero company goal, we have taken and continue to take important steps to maintain the supply of renewable energy, increase energy efficiency, reduce water usage, and make waste management even more effective.

At the same time, we continue our efforts to make our supply chains more responsible and sustainable. With our waste-free company approach, we will continue producing with respect for both nature and people, while adding value to our country.”
