Minister Varank Visits CCC, Europe's Biggest Private Brand Chewing Gum Producer
Industry and Technology Minister Mustafa Varank went to Çorlu to visit the Continental Confectionery Company (CCC) factory, the biggest chewing gum producer in Europe, which is a joint venture of Yıldız Holding and Gumlink, and received detailed information about its operations.
President of Ülker Türkiye, Central Asia and the Balkans, Mete Buyurgan told Minister Varank that CCC’s production infrastructure makes it the biggest private brand chewing gum producer in the EU, and informed him about its R&D work and investments. He stated that all their companies continue to work to meet Yıldız Holding's US$ 1 billion export target.
Industry and Technology Minister Mustafa Varank was in Tekirdağ to make official contacts, and he visited the production plants of various companies in Ergene 1 and Ergene 2 OIZs. Minister Varank also visited the chewing gum and snack production plant of Continental Confectionery Company (CCC) in Çorlu, Europe's biggest private brand chewing gum producer.
During the visit, Yıldız Holding’s Vice Chairman Ali Ülker and President of Ülker Türkiye, Central Asia and the Balkans Mete Buyurgan shared detailed information about their R&D, production, investments, exports, and employment with the Minister and his delegation.
Thanking Minister Mustafa Varank and his delegation for their visit, Mete Buyurgan said, “We’re continuing to offer high quality products to global markets using advanced technology and build our factory’s capacity. We are the biggest private brand chewing gum producer in the EU, with exports to 50 countries. Our technology allows us to respond more flexibly to different customer demands and preferences from all over the world. We have the ability to produce almost every type of chewing gum and candies on the market. Also, to meet Yıldız Holding's export target of US$ 1 billion, our holding companies export to more than 100 countries including America, Japan, England, Central Asia, and the Middle East with our government’s support." The Parliament’s Industry, Trade, Energy, Natural Resources, Information, and Technology Commission President Mustafa Elitaş, Tekirdağ Governor Aziz Yıldırım, and AK Party Tekirdağ representatives Mustafa Yel and Çiğdem Koncagül accompanied Varank during the visits.
