LEADERSHIP

We follow global developments with the goal of transforming leadership in sustainability utilizing an innovative and original method.

Additionally, it is important to us that we display our leadership in the industry in the field of sustainability as well.  We are ready to show the attitude required for​ leadership attitude necessary to take bold steps towards sustainability, which is a lengthy and challenging process.  Our strongest motivation to consolidate our leadership in this field is to make the world a better place and to be benefitial to the society that we live in.

We carry out our sustainability activities according to our  ‘leadership’ approach.  We are a member of the International Institute of Life Sciences (ILSI Europe), which has been working on food safety and environmental protection for 13 years.  Since 2015, We have also been a member of the European Food Information Council (EUFIC), which helps raise consumer awareness on nutrition and food safety and choosing a balanced and healthy lifestyle.

As much as reflecting we reflect our leadership in our daily practices, We also place them into effect throughout our value chain.  Together with the Bahri Dağdaş International Agricultural Research Institute, We have developed a high-yielding variety of biscuit wheat called Aliağa. The target of this project was to increase Turkey’s biscuit wheat harvest and contribute to the country’s agricultural development and the economy.  We also supported the Trakya Agricultural Research Institute’s development of the oat variety named ‘Kahraman’ (Hero). All of our oat needs are supplied through contracts with farmers.

As the first Turkish company to become a member of the World Cocoa Foundation, We support the sustainable production of cocoa and the increase of welfare levels of cocoa farmers through the foundation’s work.

In 2020, We started a new collaboration supporting the “10x20x30” initiative led by the World Resources Initiative (WRI), launched to reduce food loss and waste worldwide by 50% percent by the year 2030. We also support the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry’s " Protect Your Food, Protect Your Table” platform.

Our sustainability efforts are realized with the support and cooperation of our stakeholders, and they are appreciated by indices and award platforms.  Since 2015, We have been listed on the Borsa Istanbul Sustainability Index.

We are continuing projects focusing on public health and the future through collaborations with leading institutions in their field.
